CNC Chair parts continued:
CNC throne chair files. Day 1!
Finalize CNC drawings and create toolpaths using Vetric software. Run parts on machine.

Students cut test pieces of their throne chairs on the CNC before break. These test pieces were of the different types of joinery they will be using to fit their chair pieces together. The pieces failed due to the interior radius corners of their joints. Students will modify their design and cut new test pieces to confirm that the joints will work.

Students are finalizing their "throne" chair designs using Autodesk Inventor. They have designed test pieces for the CNC to test joinery/connection of pieces. We finally have the CNC running as well as the software installed this week. The dust collection tube is next! Material has been ordered so that we can move forward with the CNC. Designs will need to be modified based on the CNC capability.

Use the portfolio template in google drive to set up your ongoing portfolio for this semester. You may add other projects from previous semesters, as well. You are responsible for updating these portfolios after each project.
Continue work on using Autodesk Inventor to design a chair out of 1/2 inch plywood. Create part and assembly file to test ideas. Create test pieces for CNC - joinery, relief/surface design and pattern. No fasteners permitted.
Research - precedent studies on chairs.
