Happy New Year and welcome to Introduction to Drafting and Design. This is the first course in both the Architectural Drawing and Engineering Drafting pathways. Link to standards below: Architectural Drawing and Design
Emphasis is placed on safety, geometric construction, fundamentals of computer-aided drafting, and multi-view drawings. Students learn drafting techniques through the study of geometric construction at which time they are introduced to computer-aided drafting and design. The standards are aligned with the national standards of the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA). Students will have the opportunity to use fabrication equipment such as the 3D printer and laser cutter along with traditional drafting equipment, as well. Basic math, measuring ability and visualization skills are a must as we work through drawing and design projects. Please check out the "Pics" link for examples of previous student work. Assignments will be posted on the google classroom. Students may use their Wheeler High or Wheeler Magnet email accounts as their username and their lunch ID + whs as their password to access assignments. I will post general information on this blog throughout the semester, as well. The course syllabus is posted on this page. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. |
